Local Area Energy Plan will shift Surrey to cleaner, cheaper energy

News

Surrey is developing its first Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP): a major new initiative designed to address rising pressure on the county’s energy network and prepare for a future powered by cleaner, more affordable energy. The LAEP will provide an evidence‑based roadmap for upgrading infrastructure to meet rising demand from new housing, electric vehicles, and economic growth. Surrey County Council is looking to engage with organisations in Surrey to understand their current and future energy needs.

Do you have contacts with organisations in your area that use, store, or generate significant energy? Encourage them to attend the LAEP launch webinar on 21 July 2026.

For more information on LAEP, visit the web page or contact the team.
