HEAT Plus, Surrey Climate Commission's energy efficiency project, meets residents where they already are — in community centres, libraries, churches, cafés and local events across Surrey. Recently, Community Engagement Officer Jane Tyson visited Welcare's Redhill Centre to chat with parents at their Baby and Me group about practical ways to save energy and money at home. “Many residents don't know what support is available to reduce energy costs and improve home comfort”, says Jane. “Community organisations are trusted local hubs — and by working together, we can make sure more people across Surrey know where to turn.” HEAT Plus offers free "Save Energy, Save Money" talks, drop-in sessions, workshops and information stands — and is always looking for new community partners. If your group would like to host a session, get in touch with Jane.
