What’s Stopping Us Stopping Climate Change?

Find out how we are bringing people together to identify and remove system blocks.

Two major events have united Surrey community groups, businesses, academia and the public sector to create real solutions. We've learned something vital: things can change when local people pull together to shape climate action. When communities have a genuine voice in decisions, we achieve more.

  • In June 2024 we ran a Doughnut Economics Workshop. Watch the highlights here and read the report here.

  • In September 2023 we brought together three of the UK’s leading climate thinkers – Lord Deben (John Gummer), Natalie Bennett and Ed Straw. Despite coming from very different political traditions, all three agreed that fast, transformative change is possible if we act together. Watch the highlights here and the full discussion here.

The projects we are now undertaking are underpinned by learnings from these events.
